For OpenCore Legacy Patcher

Will this void my warranty?

If your Mac is old enough to need OCLP, it's almost certainly out of AppleCare anyway. OCLP doesn't make any physical changes to your hardware — it's purely software. You can always reinstall a clean supported macOS if needed. There's no lasting hardware change.

Is it legal?

Yes. OCLP is open-source software that you run on hardware you own. You're downloading macOS directly from Apple's own servers. Nothing about this process involves cracking or piracy.

My Mac is running Ventura (13) — should I bother?

If Ventura is working for you and everything you need runs on it, there's no urgent rush. But Sonoma does bring security improvements and better app compatibility, so it's worth patching eventually. If you're on Monterey (12) or earlier, we'd call it urgent — especially for banking and Microsoft 365.

Can I still receive macOS security updates?

Yes — Apple still delivers security patches as part of normal macOS updates. The difference is that after each update you'll need to re-run OCLP's root patches. It takes about 5 minutes. Set a reminder after each update and you're covered.

My Mac has an M1/M2/M3 chip — do I need this?

No. Apple Silicon Macs (M-series) are fully supported by Apple and don't need patching. OCLP is only for Intel-based Macs. If you're unsure which chip your Mac has, click Apple menu → About This Mac and look for "Chip" in the overview.

Do you offer mail-in service outside Tasmania?

Yes — we do Australia-wide mail-in repairs. You'll need to pack your Mac securely and ship it to us in Huon Valley. We'll have it back to you within a few business days. Get in touch and we'll walk you through the process.
